Lobby Loung-ing

Two Fridays ago, Cee and I embarked on a mini edventure, as she would put it, to The Westin Singapore. I was immediately swept away by their lobby lounge located on the 32nd floor. Although it had just rained when we first arrived, the sun was shining brightly by the time we left. You could imagine our heart-shaped emoji eyes as we took in everything, especially the glass windows that showed an unobstructed view of the bay. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves trying to capture the light that was so beautifully filtered in! Here here, check them out yourselves below.

Lastly, it's almost December. I can feel the tingles waiting for my favourite time of the year to arrive.
To overseas readers, stay warm!
With love, Pei.

Sunday

The Factory

February was an insane month for me and this particular day, just after the Lunar New Year, was my only free day of the month. Afterwards it was just a blur of assignments after assignments, projects after projects, papers after papers, and then some. I'm sorry for the incredibly late post!

So I finally had the chance to try the truffle fries at The Factory, which offer them in an assortment of thin, thick or mix. We got the mix one and I liked the thicker ones better because there was more truffle taste, which obviously is the point. Overall it was a little disappointing, maybe because people have been raving about it and while it was tasty, it certainly wasn't the best I've had. Cee and I then walked around Serangoon, took photos, looked at gorgeous apartments around the hood, and visited The Coffee Daily for a short fika session.

Anyway, to share some good news, I've (unofficially) graduated! My exams are finally over after three insane weeks of studying and I'm free. I have also submitted an application to intern at a theatre company and I'm just waiting for their reply; it's supposed to take about two weeks, so wish me luck!

xx, Pei.

Toby's Estate

Met up with Christie and Chuxuan again a couple of weeks ago.

We met for brunch at Toby's and chatted about many things, mainly about instagram I think, and our future. They are amazing; I always enjoy myself so much when I'm with them. Christie's internship in Singapore is about to end and she'll be going back to Malaysia. I'll miss her so very much and I wish she'll be back soon for a visit with Trisha. Or maybe I could visit them at KL, considering how near they actually are.

These days I've been thinking about how and where everyone will be in a year's time. Some of us will be in army, or have scooted off to study in overseas universities, or be working maybe. It's the time of our lives where we make major decisions and take control on where we are steering ourselves toward. It's all overwhelming and exciting at the same time and it obviously requires meticulous planning and thinking, guts, and a passionate heart. A year from now I would have graduated from my current school and may be applying for universities. I hope that by then I'll know or have decided where I'll be heading towards; which country to pursue my further education.

We saw these models at ION Orchard's Ted Baker; they were gorgeous and really interactive to passer-bys!

Tuesday

Paddington House of Pancakes

I'm usually not that much of a sweet tooth, but pancakes definitely have got to be sweet for me. I went on a pancakes venture today at Paddington House of Pancakes. The first dish above was definitely more to my liking. The german sausage on the other dish was really amazing, despite being really strong in taste. Anyhow, my friend and I were so full after eating everything. The day would have been perfect if we ended our food adventure there and then. However, we decided to go to another cafe for coffee and icecream cookie. I heard of the dessert today and as the place was very near, we went ahead and tried it. The icecream cookie was just way too sweet and the both of us felt that it was way too much and disgusting. Anyhow, today was a pretty great day. I was slightly tired but still enjoyed myself very much. Have got to go finish my final internship report now!

Till the next time ~

Saturday

instameet

Today was such an amazing day!(:

It rained in the morning, hence the weather was perfect!
I also went out to meet Christie (@christielpy on instagram), had brunch lunch, shopped around a bit and talked about so many things with her. The best was really about Alice Gao and how much we are both so inspired by her. We really like how she's always willing to interact with everyone who loves her photography (and let's admit it, her life).

Besides meeting Christie, I've also met Trisha (@trishates) and Chuxuan (@ardaisy_) previously. They are all such amazing people. I love talking to them. Instagram was at first merely a photo-sharing application and I only posted when I remembered to. But now it has given me the chance to talk to and get to know a few people who understands me a lot better than some other people in my life. It is also very inspiring to be able to see so many people taking photos of so many things. It lets you see the world from so many perspective. Some people are just really so talented and they inspire me to keep trying even though I always go back to taking photos of my food because it's easy.

Sunday

Mu Parlour

January 4.
Went to Mu Parlour with Audrey. It's a really bright and pretty café serving desserts, burgers, and cocktails. Prices range from $4 to $6.50 for a dessert, while you can get their ‘gourmet’ burgers for $13 to $16.

I didn't like their fries because of the excessive amount of garlic it comes with. I hate garlic! The burger I ordered was with beef patty, avocado, streaky bacon, and Mu secret sauce. It tasted fine, not too bad. Then we spent the next two hours watching the last LOTR movie there. If you don't look carefully you wouldn't be able to spot this café, hence there really isn't many people around. Great place to hang out though!
